backburner stuff: CV880F HJG (un-official) fsx/p3d conversion sneak peek
been very very busy in commercial "NDA" projects... but wanted to post something special, this is
just a study how much takes to bring and old bird mesh into new standards,
adding a VC, and reusing its textures gauges and most of geometry as the goals to accomplish...
well lot of ins and outs but shure community needs some 880/990 convair love
this baby has a lot of stuff added wingflex, lights, revisited gears and animations, etc

this is completely unpublished and HJG has beta tested with a nice feedback
hopefully we can make some smoke trails soon

Some Static Jewels
lowpoly its an art on itself! translating those beetle rounded shapes in few polygons and mapping it are just a challenge, but i really needed to do a static VW Beetle, i was thinking about it for a while when the right cup of coffee just came...
then these blueprints of a 70s elcamino where always on the way of the same "to do" folder and it came out real quick, or is just the idea that you actually work real quick when is something that you actually like to complete i guess
so a third as a red MB Jeep came, there are alwys some JEEP around and i never see them in sceneries or anything around, yes, those shapes are so imprinted in fire in our minds that we can instantly recognize if they are good modeled or way odd, however nice blueprints and some nice pics helped out as usual... these models are on the shelve now. and probably a part of a growing collection. ill try to get more of them between those coffees. lets not make those sceneries boring with just plain cars and plain objects
HJG CV880F study
this is a project that i've always had in mind, its practically mesh archeology you can trace wich
program originated the mesh taking notes of the details, this is the 2004 convair 880 HJG mesh these are old models but so fun, they never had VC nonetheless they had all their gauges and codes, been playing around with it, most of the gauges are placed now, they look crisp in p3d a big time awaits when flight engineer station comes, and its big wall of gauges and switches... we'll see that
external model has now wing flex, lights, updated animations, wheelchocks, new windshield, vortex gens, all the characteristic lumps while retaining the same UWV and original bitmap counts, probably will be adding some stairs and GPU, internal is coming out good thanks to all the material available online , this is a first step to the finishd G159 ill tell you later why, HJG is a really kind group of people and well, they have seen promises all these years and really want this becoming a reality. hopefully it will

C130 static mesh
i would like to share this nice commissioned mesh under 3500 polys in some development states
it's easy to realize why military stuff are more documented online by huge fan base and enthusiasts

most of draw views profiles and pictures avaliable are in good resolution
that really allows to model and texture conviently
"The Lockheed C-130 Hercules is a four-engine turboprop military transport aircraft designed and built originally by Lockheed (now Lockheed Martin). Capable of using unprepared runways for takeoffs and landings, the C-130 was originally designed as a troop, medevac, and cargo transport aircraft. The versatile airframe has found uses in a variety of other roles, including as a gunship (AC-130), for airborne assault, search and rescue, scientific research support, weather reconnaissance, aerial refueling, maritime patrol, and aerial firefighting. It is now the main tactical airlifter for many military forces worldwide. More than 40 variants of the Hercules, including a civilian one marketed as the Lockheed L-100, operate in more than 60 nations." -Wikipedia
this is how the occlusion looks ( with some minor errors)
diffuse map ( very useful for selecting areas on your painting)
i like to render on different stages because HQ renders can reveal mesh or texture flaws easily
besides, they are fun
suddenly, the model required was the -30 version wich is longer... so we stretched the fuse and went on trough the rendering to texture again just on the fuse
im not too confident yet with my paints but i can recognize a nice effort here
thank's a lot for passing by
