C130 static mesh

i would like to share this nice commissioned mesh under 3500 polys in some development states

it's easy to realize why military stuff are more documented online by huge fan base and enthusiasts

most of draw views profiles and pictures avaliable are in good resolution
that really allows to model and texture conviently

"The Lockheed C-130 Hercules is a four-engine turboprop military transport aircraft designed and built originally by Lockheed (now Lockheed Martin). Capable of using unprepared runways for takeoffs and landings, the C-130 was originally designed as a troop, medevac, and cargo transport aircraft. The versatile airframe has found uses in a variety of other roles, including as a gunship (AC-130), for airborne assault, search and rescue, scientific research support, weather reconnaissance, aerial refueling, maritime patrol, and aerial firefighting. It is now the main tactical airlifter for many military forces worldwide. More than 40 variants of the Hercules, including a civilian one marketed as the Lockheed L-100, operate in more than 60 nations." -Wikipedia

this is how the occlusion looks ( with some minor errors)

diffuse map ( very useful for selecting areas on your painting)

i like to render on different stages because HQ renders can reveal mesh or texture flaws easily

besides, they are fun

suddenly, the model required was the -30 version wich is longer... so we stretched the fuse and went on trough the rendering to texture again just on the fuse

im not too confident yet with my paints but i can recognize a nice effort here

thank's a lot for passing by

G159 VC mesh Test

i know it's pretty crude but i needed to do this
gotta remap the whole external model model too (less drawcalls)

holy jesus! n FSX tutorial for Gmax!!!

finally!!!

i found some lights about the new procedures for making aircrafts
from gmax (for 3dmax they are described in SDK, but you know kinda "overblown" way) .
gmax seems some more reliable at this time for me to use
cause there's not such a facility (or haven't read about it) from 3Dmax 2008...to fsx
so i can export my models to .3Ds ...then into Gmax safely! (there's a script around wich translates the model perfectly with no issues, i must try that too, since i havent apply textures yet, its fine for me putting the exported .3ds into gmax right away)

would like to thanks a lot to Mr. Bill from LionHeartCreations
wich made this document for all of us very short of light and time
he's the author of some very fine aircraft ,THANKS!
here's the link

http://lionheartcreationsworld.com/FSX_Tutorial.zip

i've found it in the allways proverbial Sim-Outhouse forum!
if you look inside you'll find all your favorite modelmakers discussing and talking each other and the ammount of info there can be surprinsing :)
