backburner stuff: CV880F HJG (un-official) fsx/p3d conversion sneak peek

been very very  busy in commercial "NDA" projects... but wanted to post something special, this is
just a study how much takes to bring and old bird mesh into new standards,
adding a VC, and reusing its textures gauges and most of geometry as the goals to accomplish...
well lot of ins and outs but shure community needs some 880/990 convair love
this baby has a lot of stuff added wingflex, lights,  revisited gears and animations, etc

this is completely unpublished and HJG has beta tested with a nice feedback

hopefully we can make some smoke trails soon

C130 static mesh

i would like to share this nice commissioned mesh under 3500 polys in some development states

it's easy to realize why military stuff are more documented online by huge fan base and enthusiasts

most of draw views profiles and pictures avaliable are in good resolution
that really allows to model and texture conviently

"The Lockheed C-130 Hercules is a four-engine turboprop military transport aircraft designed and built originally by Lockheed (now Lockheed Martin). Capable of using unprepared runways for takeoffs and landings, the C-130 was originally designed as a troop, medevac, and cargo transport aircraft. The versatile airframe has found uses in a variety of other roles, including as a gunship (AC-130), for airborne assault, search and rescue, scientific research support, weather reconnaissance, aerial refueling, maritime patrol, and aerial firefighting. It is now the main tactical airlifter for many military forces worldwide. More than 40 variants of the Hercules, including a civilian one marketed as the Lockheed L-100, operate in more than 60 nations." -Wikipedia

this is how the occlusion looks ( with some minor errors)

diffuse map ( very useful for selecting areas on your painting)

i like to render on different stages because HQ renders can reveal mesh or texture flaws easily

besides, they are fun

suddenly, the model required was the -30 version wich is longer... so we stretched the fuse and went on trough the rendering to texture again just on the fuse

im not too confident yet with my paints but i can recognize a nice effort here

thank's a lot for passing by

G159C (IC)

"A 37-passenger stretched version, the G-159C, was developed by Gulfstream for regional airline use. Five were delivered from November 1980. Air North (Plattsburgh NY) (which subsequently changed its name to Brockway Air) was one of the few airlines in the U.S. to use this version before its acquisition by Brockway Glass. Another Gulfstream 1-C airline operator was Chaparral Airlines which flew passenger services as American Eagle via a codesharing agreement with American Airlines."
